Happy Birthday Lucy!...Wink, Wink!

Tomorrow (Friday, May 18)Lucy will be two. Grandma and Grandpa Packer came for an early celebration with us tonight (Thursday, My 17). After dining together at the soft-twisty-bread paradise known as The Pizza Factory, we came home to presents...for Lucy?
Ok. For me. A tomato plant! Of our very own! Bless Lucy's green-thumbed, green-souled grandfather! He brought us the pot, the plant, and the rich, made-in-grandpa's-garden soil - all for the price of, well, nothing. And I'd be surprised if good-hearted grandma was not part of this plot as well!
I'm trying to think up a name for this delightful addition to our family - which will occupy a prominent spot right outside our kitchen window. Maybe one of you will offer a suggestion. Kayla? :)
The goal is to keep it alive. It would be helpful to me if, occasionally, in your comments, you could inquire as to whether or not I've watered the tomato plant. :)
Rest assured that Lucy was remembered in the midst of all the tomato excitement...

And that I'll post a more appropriate Lucy-birthday post tomorrow night!

Happy birthday little Lucy! Congrats on your new tomato plant, Lori. I'm so bad at keeping my veggie plants alive... good luck to you!

Happy Birthday to Lucy! Can you believe it's been two years? I hope you guys are having a very celebratory day.

I'll see what I can do about brainstorming some options for your tomato plant's name. Congrats, by the way! It's a pretty big deal!!!

Chris and I are growing tomatoes and cucumbers and beans on his back porch. This is successful mostly because they are at HIS house and he remembers to do things like water living things. It's a great set up. I highly recommend it. :)

I love Lucy! Happy birthday to you, darling.

Well in the past I've tried planting squash, tomatoes, canteloupe... maybe some other stuff. This year we are planting sweet peas because Rich loves them. He is in charge of taking care of them though... which means they actually get watered!

Lucy says, "Fanks!" for the birthday wishes!! I say, good grief! My friends are all green thumbs too!
Michelle - you and Chris are growing vegetables together? Do you have anything else to tell us????
Jeanine - I would LOVE to plant sweet peas! "Licious!" (as Lucy says)
Kayla - You just keep thinking of a name. I'm stuck.
Amy - just read your post! loved it!

Ok Here is the list for names for your tomato plant:

Cameron
Butch
Todd
Burt
Floyd
Lyle

What do you think? I just feel like he's a boy, you know? None of the girls names I came up with really worked.

Bless my heart . . . .

After weighing our options, we've settled on....drumroll please...
Butch.

Fabulous, Kayla, Fabulous. I can already hear Lucy's voice saing "give drink to Butch! Lucy do it!"

You're brilliant! Bless your heart indeed!

Lori! We are truly friends! I was leaning towards Butch the whole time. Good solid choice! Having reviewed the pictures of the little guy I think you picked the one that suits him the best.

It's all about naming things. And hydration, really. . .

Love you!
