And bless our FABULOUS Nursery leader for this idea:

Lucy has been in her high chair making daddy monsters, mommy monsters, Lucy monsters, and...kittys, for the last - hmmm? I guess almost an hour and a half now! That's got to be a record!

I LOVE that idea with the googley-eyes! I going to use that!
How do you get the dough so bright? Mine's always pastely colors. That is great with the eyes... we'll be trying it out later today I'm sure.
Good idea to use the eye balls! That's genius! You are a cute mom...and Lucy is a doll!
ps. I can totally relate to the Wes/Lucy quote... When I count to three it produces the same frustrating results!
1. Yea for Melissa and Doug toys! So glad you like them.
2. Could Lucy BE any cuter? That bottom left picture of her and the colors-on-a-ground is too much!
3. The day my son sits still for 90 minutes will be a blessed one!
Jeanine- I hope William has fun with the eyes! (and glad Lucy isn't the only in this "ignore my parents" phase :)
Carrie - we usually just use A LOT of food color.
Kate - wish I could take credit for the idea! It's a fun one, though!
Anne - that's my fav. picture too! And I totally remember the days of wondering if Lucy would ever stop MOVING! :) It happens. Slowly.
P.S Carrie: adding a lot of food color will only make the dough a darker, more solid pastel (like the green dough in the pictures) - if you want really vibrant color, you've got to use paste or gel food coloring. (I've also heard that koolaid works...? But we've never tried it.)
As we have begun venturing into the awesome world of children's toys, Blake and I have decided that Melissa and Doug toys are pretty much the coolest ones out there. It makes me excited for our still-yet-to-be-born baby to be 1) out of the womb, and 2) old enough to also appreciate the greatness that is Melissa and Doug.
