It's Official

Three years old.
Lucy couldn't be happier about her new status. The declaration, "I'm not two anymore. I'm three!" has all but replaced "Hello!" as her ritualistic greeting.

I, personally, have little more to say on the subject.
Just pictures to post.
An overwhelming number of them.
But even this abundance doesn't capture, fails to indicate, the overwhelming love we feel for the friends and family who helped make this such a special weekend for our proud-to-be three-year-old . Thanks to all those who came, called, wrote, wished, sent, or sang in contribution to our little celebration.

Just tell me when to blow, Dad...

Our favorite carrot cupcakes

And as if a morning of partyin' at the playground wasn't enough, Grandma and Grandpa Packer hosted Lucy for a fancy backyard dinner.

The springtime confetti that covered the patio made for a perfect celebration. Lucy was tickled with the blanket of birthday blossoms under foot...

And her mom and dad were tickled with the evening's menu. Sign me up for Grandpa's grilling and Grandma's baked veggies on my birthday too!

And when it came time, once again, for candles and cupcakes, Lucy no longer needed any coaching.

I tell you what, folks, life doesn't get much better than this.

And three year old girls in their polka-dotted-birthday-dresses don't come much cuter than this(thanks Grandma Truman!).

The end.

It looks like you had a fabulous weekend celebration. Glad to see that she is enjoying being three, you enjoy it also for life changes when you add #2.

She is adorable in the yellow-polka-dot dress too. Good choice Grandma Truman, matches the curls perfectly.

How amazing! Three years old is a milestone! And what a cutie she is! That yellow dress looked adorable, and the all that partying makes me think you should have posted a picture of her crashing somewhere into exhaustion. Birthdays are great! (Also, I know this isn't a recipe blog, but you should post how your family makes those vegis. They looked yum!) Congrats Lucy! (and mom and dad too!)

Thanks for the happy birthday wishes everyone!

Those of you curious about the veggies:
Pick any variety you want (we did sweet potatoes, reg. potatoes, parsnips, carrots, broc, etc.). Toss with olive oil and bake (on a cookie sheet) at 350-ish degrees for an hour-ish.

Happy bday, Lucy! I see you got a my little pony (every little girl's dream, I'm sure!) Lori, I loved seeing the different pictures and years of Lucy...she really is growing up so fast.

Add to the 'veggie bake' a sprinkling of fresh herbs and a dash of parmasan cheese, served to a very receptive bunch and voila.. you can't go wrong. :)

Birthdays, Loved Ones, Surprises, and Gospel Joys make life so very sweet...(It almost makes those exhausted moments disappear--right you busy, busy young homemakers???!!) Mom Packer

We love your simple approach to birthday parties. It was fun just to play. Here is where I found the script for the "I belong". You found the same as mine but there are others to choose from there.

Our schedule is probably a little more flexible when it comes to outings, we don't have college kids to keep up with, that is if there are even any still living there since it is summer. The only day that doesn't work for us is Friday, Madelyn has swimming lessons.

The museum is a blast and you could spend hours there. Let me know.
