Halloween 2009: Miscellaneous

The Family Home Evening Halloween Extravaganza:
*featuring a game of "pin-the-hat-on-the-witch." Which game Lucy won.
*also featuring Halloween Oreos. Of which Lucy ate the orange filling only. Yuck.
The Halloween songs: (It was hard to pick just one!)

The Halloween crafts:
Lucy loved making her own glittery princess shoes and painting gold crowns for soon-to-be costumes...

The Halloween Card from Nate and Rebecca:
Yes, that's a pop-up witch who flies across the moon as you open the card. Unbelievable.
The Preschool Halloween Parade.

Do you see Queen Lucy in her crooked crown? Hearing that line of children sing "Halloween Cat! Halloween Cat! Why do you me-ow and me-ow like that?..." as they took slow steps toward us was maybe the highlight of my Halloween. They were as cute as can be.

The full moon. Which made the Hinckley clock tower look rather Halloween-ish.And the newspaper ghosts. Which task we turned entirely over to Lucy this year. She didn't disappoint.

The laundry room pumpkin. Spencer seems disinterested in this picture, but I tell you, the kid has been obsessed with pumpkins this season. And...what else?
The Halloween sugar cookies we shared with our Huntsman friends? The skiff of snow we encountered at Grandma and Grandpa's house? (The deer that bounded on top of our car 5.3 seconds after these pictures were taken????)
We had a HAPPY holiday! Hope you did too!!!

First of all, very cool picture of the Hinckley builidng! Second of all, who can blame Lucy for only eating the oreo frosting--I might wonder about her if she only ate the cookie part. And third of all, I wish I could hear those preschoolers singing, "Halloween Cat". Adorable!

So fun! You are such a fun mom! I love how much you take advantage of the seasons and holidays to do fun things! Also, I can't believe you had a deer on your car! AHH!

You can't BEGIN to explain the DEER experience. The deer bounded OVER Lucy, between the rest of us who were standing in a semi circle....on to the Truman car causing a tremendous sound....then off into the neighborhood.... Some beginning to the Halloween events which were simply SUPER!!!

Oh yeah, the deer! Thanks for filling us in on the story Mother Packer--that is so, so crazy.

Lucy is a girl after my own heart re:Oreos. I'll admit I'm a filling-only eater myself. :)

I was going to buy some Halloween Oreos... and they didn't have any!

And you need to teach us your Halloween songs... we only know 2!
