12 Days of Christmas Catch-Up: The Nativity

After a delicious, warm supper...

...the cousins donned their costumes...

...and warmed all our hearts.

The nativity reenactment remains my favorite Christmas tradition.

Love it! It's one of my favorites too :)

We haven't done it for so long in my family--I definitely was missing it this year. But who can blame my parents for discontinuing it--as kids, we were not so reverent as little Lucy there. One year my sister decided to be Joseph and my brother Mary; another time my sister stuffed her dress with pillows to be appropriately great with child. And another year all the female shepherds donned marker mustaches.

Lucy was the perfect Mary! I wish the pictures could show the way she tenderly patted the baby and looked at it with such concern and love. Oh man, she is just soooo sweet!!

Thanks for sharing the memories, what could be better than grandchildren in the nativity! And Lucy was the most tender little Mary.

I second the motion... Can't you see little Christian families across the earth acting out the Story of Stories.... Oh my, how wonderful!

Even the little funny 'slip ups' are tender and touching I think...
