Blustery

I had lots of intentions for this pre-Easter (we postponed, remember?)/spring break week. And we've had fun. But I'll be honest: everything kind of fell apart when Monday morning's pajama party (no preschool!) was interrupted by a phone call indicating that Wes was being treated by campus medical staff after experiencing a major seizure.

HE'S FINE NOW.
He's been fine since Tuesday (except for some soreness - a lot of soreness!), but it's taken me all week to recover! Something about the not-being-there and the ambulance. Good thing for Wes's kind professor who was so helpful that morning. And good thing for my sweet neighbor who rushed (with infant in arms!) to stay with my children, and for my sweet family who came that afternoon and brought lunch. (And laughter. Mom sat quietly on Wes's bed after he was home, patted his leg lovingly and said to him with a characteristic twinkle in her eye, "some guys'll do anything for a little attention.")

(I know another guy who likes a little attention from his Grandma and Grandpa)

We canceled our previous FHE plans that night and curled up with a newly purchased Disney movie. Winnie the Pooh (the original, of course - none of this sequel business!) did much to soften the drama of our rather blustery day.

The rest of the week proceeded mostly as planed. And after yesterday's good cry in the shower (the shower is my favorite place to cry - draws no attention, smears no mascara, leaves no salty residue! =), and last night's dinner/movie date with Wes (courtesy of our awesome friends who all but demanded that we bring our kids over and go out), and today's visit with Wes's parents (do we have the best family in all the world? Yes.  But how come I didn't take any pictures of you Phil and Lu!!?), I am feeling back to my normal self.  Which includes blogging, as it turns out.

This weekend's forecast: sunny!
(Sure hope the rays extend to the little circle of our family who will be in St. George for a funeral tomorrow. Sigh.)

Happy Easter (again! Isn't that fun?!)
Next week I'm sure to bore you with a long and grueling series of catch up posts! But boring is way ok with me right now =)

I like boring too and crying in the shower!
My older brother had seizures and they are no fun to witness. I can only imagine the trauma of not being with Wes though. Bless your strong heart!
I hope things are peaceful and content for the next little while, considering check outs are almost upon you.

Oh Lor, that sounds so stressful and emotionally exhausting! I'm glad he's ok, but so sorry you guys had that scariness this week. If nothing else, it keeps your family close by which can't be a bad thing, right?

I truly hope Wes is feeling better now. What a scary thing to go through. We had a minor ER incident that involved Asher's forehead and 5 stitches a couple of days ago and I was absolutely exhausted - mentally, emotionally, physically - by the end of the day. That experience certainly made me more grateful for "boring" days.
