Our Fancy Nancy

On the day of our dear friend Spencer Fields' wedding, Wes tried to prod Lucy out of her jeans and T-shirt by telling her we were going to a fancy party after dinner and we needed to dress up.

He didn't realize that her version of "dress up" was a little different than his.

Well...why not, we thought.  We knew Spencer and Kim wouldn't mind having Fancy Nancy visit their wedding reception (bless them).  So we indulged Lucy's choice of dress...

(this was all very serious, mind you)

...and headed to catch dinner before the reception.

(Love that video:  girl preoccupied with her gown, boy impatient for his meal =)

Lucy finally consented to come inside for food.
We stabbed our rolls with our forks (?) "and called each other Darling."

Cute, and fun, and no big deal, right?
Right.
But, guess what Spencer and Kim served at their reception?

That's right, my friends.

Parfaits.

Oh I just love it! Love love love it. Love that she was Fancy Nancy. Love that you played along. LOVE that she would rather play in her dress than eat. Sheesh... I need a girl!
