Thou gracious God, whose mercy lends
the light of home, the smile of friends,
our gathered flock thine arms enfold
as in the peaceful days of old.
the light of home, the smile of friends,
our gathered flock thine arms enfold
as in the peaceful days of old.
For all the blessings life has brought,
for all its sorrowing hours have taught,
for all its sorrowing hours have taught,
for all we mourn, for all we keep,
the hands we clasp, the loved that sleep.
the hands we clasp, the loved that sleep.
We thank thee, Father; let thy grace
our loving circle still embrace,
thy mercy shed its heavenly store,
thy peace be with us evermore.
our loving circle still embrace,
thy mercy shed its heavenly store,
thy peace be with us evermore.
The pictures we have of Wes's funeral/graveside services were taken primarily by his sister Suzy, our cousin Erica, and our wonderful friend Jed Wells. I'm so grateful for their thoughtfulness and talent in helping to preserve these memories.
I also want to acknowledge that so many of you friends have been through similar, drawn-out, heartfelt, never-to-be-forgotten days and experiences with people you love, and that I've truly appreciated the thoughts and feelings you've shared with me via comments and e-mails and conversations.
For all the blessings life has brought
We thank thee, Father; let thy grace
our loving circle still embrace
our loving circle still embrace
