"When You Have A Baby In The House"

A couple of months ago I asked Lucy to help Spencer brush his teeth before bed.  Spencer was...less than cooperative, and after a few minutes in the bathroom, Lucy stomped out with clenched fists, exclaiming dramatically to no one in particular, "Ahhhhhh!  Now I know how hard it is to control children!"

Such a good lesson to learn =)

A few weeks ago she got to practice her babysitting skills again when the darling Miss E. Campbell stayed with us for a night or two.

We had the best time!  It was so good for my kids to have a toddler to entertain and share with and push in the stroller and feed in the high chair.

They were so sincerely delighted by it all.  And as we sat around the dinner table, "um um umm"ing...

...with Lizzie one night, I smiled to hear Lucy observe:  "When you have a baby in the house it's like the house is a castle and she's the queen!"

Yes.  Yes, indeed.  And what a darling little queen!

Follows:  ten thousand pictures of our royal guest =)

She loved wearing Lucy's sunglasses and insisted on having a hair elastic round her wrist too (Lucy is always armed with several).

She loved watching the washing machine spin and the garage door open and close.

And we three just loved watching her!

(On our walks, Spencer was constantly checking to make sure she was still there =)

(And he was happy to comply with her requests to hear his tricycle bell.)

These were unquestionably some of the best days of our summer!

Love you Lizzie girl!
