In Summer: Balloon Fest and Parade

Can't say enough how much we love spending the Fourth of July in Provo every year.  The evening we arrived, I asked the kids to choose if they wanted to wake up early and watch the balloons, or wake up early and get a good parade spot.  I didn't think we could do both.

But they thought we could do both.
Of course they did.
So of course we did.
And it was a great morning!

(Lucy was thrilled there was a balloon called the Dawn Treader.  We think it was that blue one above and it was, actually, so beautiful.  Spencer has always loved the pig balloon, but this year he was extra delighted because it reminded him of his favorite Gerald and Piggie books =)

I liked the Goole Fiber entry.  And of course Studio C was a hit.

Great morning!

Fun morning! This reminded me of the balloon fest here... I need to look it up to see when it will be this year.

"Memories, light the corners of my mind
Misty watercolor memories of the way we were.
Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind
smiles we gave to one another
for the way we were.
Can it be that it was all so simple then
or has time rewritten every line?
If we had the chance to do it all again
tell me would we? Could we?
Memories, may be beautiful and yet
what's too painful to remember
we simply choose to forget
So it's the laughter we remember
whenever we remember
the way we were."
(Probably shouldn't go there huh.)
