Easter Memories

The kids woke up to scripture bag "baskets" and a few other surprises.

Spencer was thrilled with his first ever non-clip tie, handed down from his cousin.  Good thing Grandpa was on hand for that moment.

We made Resurrection rolls before church.  Spencer ate thee or four and when I tried to nudge him away from the table, he leaned back in his chair, closed his eyes and said, "I'm not leaving this paradise."

Silly (darling, beloved) boy.  And how about his beautiful big sis, looking 15 years older in the long flowy Easter clothes Grandma Truman sent?

Church meetings were wonderful.  Attending Dad's family history class during Sunday School was perfect for Easter.  "O how great the plan of our God."

After church we visited Grandma Packer's spot at the cemetery and then came home for an Easter egg scavenger hunt.....

...culminating with a pair of darling bunny bags from Grandma T,

(Which I stuffed with really exciting things like gardening gloves.  A happy reminder to my children of all the yard work ahead this summer ;)

We had our Easter FHE at the Provo cemetery a few days later.  The cemetery is usually stunning the first week of April, but we must have arrived after a big wind storm because it was trashed.

So after a quick spring cleaning...

...we proceeded with our traditional Easter bowling and Cadbury eggs (Wes's favorite).

It was a lovely, breezy afternoon.

But amid the fun and revelry, my heart beat a solemn, sincere hallelujah.

(Dear Estrada neighbors, sorry that we sit on your bench, and that you'll be in our pictures for probably the rest of forever.)
