Lori: Our dear...
Lucy: Heav-ly Fa-der...
Lori: We thank thee...
Lucy: For all-a-cousins an-a pool.
Her words and imagination are becoming more surprising and spontaneous every day. After a few minutes of ignoring her in the car last night, we suddenly heard her low, silly voice say "Mister Je-llo." I turned to see her talking to the jelly inside of a peanut butter sandwich square she had managed to open up. Mister Jello? Where did that come from??!
Wes and I liked this fun word for our Wednesday Word Challenge:

hardihood
noun
boldness; daring
"I hardly know where I found the hardihood thus to open a conversation with a stranger; the step was contrary to my nature and habits; but I think her occupation touched a chord of sympathy somewhere; for I too liked reading, though of a frivolous and childish kind; I could not digest or comprehend the serious or substantial."
- Jane Eyre
Other Truman family favorites:
Straight-from-the-oven chocolate chip cookies. Pretty much my all time favorite dessert. Lucy's first experience?
Delicious.
A good laugh. The kind of laugh where you say: "I haven't laughed like that in a long time!"
What do a pair of Polynesians say upon falling from a couch? Twofelloffasofa
(Joke courtesy of Wes. I NEVER remember jokes. This one brings back memories of Wes teaching in the ESL department of the MTC. :)
Second laughing memory: Memorial Day this year - featuring Lucy swimming (an event deserving its own complete post) - and featuring Lucy and Wes in my mother's living room, playing the piano and LAUGHING. After a good 10-15 minutes of such joviality, I heard Lucy's adoring voice say "I love you, daddy!"
Puddles. Behold, Splashing Girl returns (better equipped!)!
And...our Friends & Family. Can't wait for our weekend excursion to Las Vegas/Seattle to see so many of them!!!
Many a story will be shared upon our return! Until then... hope you have the hardihood to participate in the word challenge! (Wes, does that count as my 'usage' for the week?! I vote, yes!)

What a cute prayer! Lucy sounds like such a sweetheart. How fun!
Cute pictures! I especially like the one with Lucy in the rain doing what looks like a yoga pose...She is darling! and YUM, cookies are among my very favorites too! Good choice!
Oh! Thank you for making me laugh this morning!
I love it! Mmmm.. and you've got me craving warm chocolate chip cookies!
Lucy's prayer was so cute. Reminded me of something Henry said this afternoon. We were reading Chrysanthemum (surprise!) and he asked who one of the characters was. I told him it was chrysanthemum's father. And then he pointed to him and said, "hev-en-y fodder."
I thought it was sweet. Yeah...is it too early to start planning Henry and Lucy's wedding?
Lori, what a cute blog!!!! We watched the little Mother's Day Video you sent to Grandma, then Lucinda brought hers up for us to watch too.....it was SO darling!!! I can't believe she can talk so well. We all cried!!! Those Mother's Day songs get you every time!!! Have a fun vacation.....Seattle sounds really nice and cool! We are hot here today!!! Have a fun safe trip!
I think that Lucy is going to have boys all over her... William says that she is his girlfriend. I guess he'll have to fight off Henry...
Dear Lori,
I hope you're having fun on your vacation. But can you please hurry back? I miss you. And don't worry, Butch is drinkin' it up. Alive and well.
Love,
Anne
Lindsay - thanks, can't wait to see pictures and hear stories of your soon-to-arrive sweetheart!
Kate - the yoga pose was our favorite too. You should see her downward-facing-dog! :)
Amy jean - I miss you already! This weekend was so fun. Are you guys home yet?
Jeanine and Emily - Lucy's going to pull her hair out picking between the two cutest boys in the world! I don't envy her the eventual decision. But hey, she should be grateful to get a choice between two - don't you think?
aunt laurie (I presume ;))- so glad you liked the video! We loved making it! And we LOVE hearing bits and pieces of your family's life when we read Abby's blog! Yea for keeping in touch!
Anne! Butch has grown! He's thriving! Thanks for your attentive care! When I looked out the window and saw his added inches - I felt all sentimental - like watching Lucy grow up :) Can't wait to get caught up on the goings on that we missed!
