I mean really who could argue. You have a nun-esque nany, a militant father, Nazis, near escapes…and to top it all off, they all sing! Needless to say we all enjoyed watching together. It even spilled over into one of our favorite “long car ride games”. A game where you were given a clue and the answer was two words that rhymed, ready?
Clue: Distant Constellation
Answer: Far Star
Now can you guess what a sixteen going on seventeen year old truck would be (this clue courtesy of one of my brothers)? Well, if you said a Liesl Diesel we need to be in the same vehicle more often. And then there’s that ever encouraging “I have confidence in sunshine…” song that you hum to yourself when facing discouragement. At least I d…okay so I don’t either but go with me here.
These last few weeks have been interesting and initially very discouraging. I have to say my confidence has been shaken. But through all the shaking I’ve learned something about what we should base our confidence in: it’s more than having confidence in “sunshine”, “rain”, “that spring will come again” it’s even more than having “confidence in me”, it’s confidence in the fact that there is One who cares and hears and answers our prayers. It’s in putting our confidence in God that we are able to follow Pauls counsel to, “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.”

So this isn't really Chad Farley...just his wonderful wife borrowing his gmail account so I could make a comment. Lori & Wes, I've been enjoying your blog for weeks now and just couldn't resist the urge to comment another moment. Your blog and musings (like your life) are simply inspiring and I can't get enough of it! So continue in your pursuits and let us all watch (and read) in awe!
A remark about Wes' comment (that later was really Lori)...I can't believe you like Sense and Sensibility and that you'd openly admit it! Could you speak to my husband???
Brynn, Brynn!!! Thanks for commenting! I've been meaning to e-mail you forever!! Are you guys getting ready for your move? How are you? How are those cute kiddos? You guys don't have a blog that we just don't know about do you? Anyway - it was so fun to hear from you!!!!!!!!! We think about you a lot!
Wes, your optimism and faith is inspiring to me. It was good to chat with you guys last night and discuss your upcoming plans. Wherever life takes all of us, we have got to get to Hawaii one of these days!
Wes - your "optimism and faith" is equally inspiring to me...maybe more so because observe it on a daily basis. I love you! Way to post :)
Wes, "[Go] boldly unto the throne of grace, that [you] may. . . find grace . . ." You do, you have and you are amazing! Love you! Momma!
Wes,
Driving back from Warm Springs:
Ryan: Caesar's archer. Roman bowman!
Matt: Sea-mammal storm. Whale gale!
Anonymous kid in the backseat: Blood soaked killer. Count Dracula!
And you're inspiring, yadda yadda...
