Deathly Hallows

Book in possession. Reading in progress.
You should hear the way Lucy has been walking around the apartment all afternoon quietly slurring "hArryPOTter" in an uncannily-British sounding voice.

You shouldn't automatically conclude, however, that Wes and I have been sitting shoulder to shoulder all day keeping half of a monitoring eye on Lucy while the rest of our gaze has been planted inside J. K. Rowling's anticipated finale.

You shouldn't assume that we've been merely muttering disinterested and insincere "oooo's" and "ahhhh's" in response to Lucy's antics all day as we have been once again sucked into Rowling's spell-binding saga.

But you might justifiably believe that we've been doing those things for PART of the day. And we do reluctantly confess that, while she has been served regular meals and hearty doses of loving attention, Lucy nevertheless has been pajama clad all day.

Lori, you are going to think that Danny and I are such cheaters, but...I guess we are. We totally looked it up on Wikipedia last night and read the whole plot summary before midnight! Don't worry, I won't spill the beans. I have to confess that I felt kind of cool being so sneaky and knowing before everyone else waiting in line at Borders. I am glad that you are enjoying it. It sounded pretty captivating.

We too are trying hard not to ingnore our children TOO much while reading like crazy. I must say our kids got out of jammies yesterday, but Lainey watched a bit more TV than usual.

Well, I'm on the second tier of the HP bandwagon, having only started in on Harry Potter two summers ago when I retrieved them from the Carter Family Library. So...I am going to start reading as soon as I finish the 9th Work and the Glory. (I figure I better finish since I started the series when I was 15.) Once that is done, though, watch out kids...take long naps. I remember how hard it is to put it down!

Yesterday when I picked up my copy from the library Rich said "I'll see you in a few days"... so far I'm loving it. We'll have to discuss when I'm done.

We did the EXACT same thing, Lori. I don't think I wore anything put the same pair of PJs for about 30 hours straight. Ha!

Carrie, Jeanine, and Autumn - glad we're not the only ones letting a few normal activities lapse while reading...:)

Marie, I was the biggest Work and the Glory fan you ever met in junior high school! But I never finished the series either! You've inspired me! After Harry...
