DAY 3 was euphoric!
Bless Lucy's little heart! Only two MINOR incidents today. The whole day! And we only had to put her on the toilet a couple of times. She's just been traipsing right into the bathroom and proceeding with her business as if we'd been doing this for months. She's about a hundred times more comfortable and confidant than yesterday. Hooray!
NOTE: I am NOT so naive as to believe that the "end" is in sight. No, we've had plenty of experience with progression and regression in other child rearing endeavors. But yesterday had me worried that we would be spending more in laundry money these next few months than we had ever spent on diapers!

Thanks to those of you who shared your empathy, advice, and well wishes below (I did respond). You can't imagine how much I appreciate the attention of such wise veterans!
And no one need fear that I'll be posting about potty training any more (unless, well, there's something really important to say!)....My feeling is that Day 4, and on will be all about endurance and consistency.
Thanks to all! We're signing off...

Just makes me smile. Can't even remember how potty training ever happened at our house, it just did. Motivated mostly by cloth diapers I think. Hazy, hazy memories and no one will ever ask a forty year old how old they were when they were potty trained.
Nice job on the potty training. I am definitely impressed. As I sat here thinking about my endeavor with madelyn, I couldn't help but posting a flashback friday all about it. Who knows perhaps it will help someone else.
Yea! Yea! Yea! I'm so happy for you! Give Lucy a big hug for me!!!
ps. Love the pictures!
Lori, I'm so glad you let us in on your ups and downs through this process. As we are fast approaching that event in our lives (we decided to wait until after our 2 day 24 hour car ride to Michigan) we will draw on this as inspiration as we get through those first few days. Here's hoping that we have as much success as Lucy did in only a few days! And thank you again for letting Linc play Wednesday. It really was a life saver for us to be able to get so much done. Linc has been asking if Lucy can play at his house ever since, so let us know when you are ready to have that much distance from the potty!
What a fun ride for you guys! Hey, I'm sad Monday's not working out. I would love to stop by anytime though. Let me know a good day for you guys.
Way to go! I am impress at how quick it went. I remember those days with Lily, it really was very frustrating. I will have to look back at this when we potty train Ben.
No help here....I am just laughing my head off (in between the cheers!) Mom
