The other day I happened upon her arranging a few belongings (clothes, blankets, stuffed "am-i-nals" and other toys) into some kind of pattern on the floor. After fiddling with this item or that, she would make awkward attempts to sit on the...arrangement, all the while saying something about a miracle.
After a few moments, discovery dawned. I realized that she was saying "miracle-round," having ingeniously created her very own merry-go-round. Her awkward attempts to sit on the random belongings? An imagined ride on a singing carousel.

MIRACLE -ROUND
What a perfect description of my life! A whirling, twirling, up-and-downing "miracle-round" of God's intervention in the daily details and the defining dramas of my existence.
Miracles. Big ones. Small ones. (But aren't even small ones big?!) It is sometimes mind boggling. Why, in the world, does God intervene? Why does He care? "What is man that thou art mindful of him? Or the son of man, that thou visitest him?"
Perhaps He intervenes because He loves us with the love of a Father to a child. Or, perhaps, because He created us for a purpose and His intervention guides us ever toward that purpose. Perhaps both. =)
But whatever the reasons, the miracle round keeps turning and I am left to testify with amazed gratitude that the God who performed "wonders" and "marvels" in Old Testament times, the God who healed, cleansed, restored, and enacted "so many miracles before [the people]" of New Testament times, is indeed the same yesterday, today, and forever: a God of miracles.
The miraculous turns in my life are innumerable and often internal, like feelings of peace, certainty, and hope when life is turbulent, uncertain, and bleak. Miraculous feelings that surpass sense, surpass reason, surpass understanding.
But Monday's turn on the miracle-round took the tangible form of a doctor's office and the relieving, if temporary, removal of a little medicinal cloud that has hung over our home for the last two years. A miracle, marked by Wes's unconscious smile as we drove home.
And by a teardrop or two glistening on my hand.
Certainly a small fulfillment of the Lord’s modern promise to “show miracles, signs, and wonders, unto all those who believe on my name.”
Miracles. What more can I say?! We're believers.

Count me in too! I'm a believer! We are so happy for you all. And no worries (or actually, maybe worry on my side) Truman still says aminals!
We are so happy for your family!! Your faith strengthens all of us! What a perfect phrase, 'miracle-round,' I hope I can be more aware of miracle-rounds in my daily life.
Suzy - We love you! Thanks for your great post! And I love Truman even more 'cause he says aminals :) (it's so cute. I can't bear to part with it!)
Carters - Your call meant the world to me (and will to Wes when he finds out about it!) THANK YOU!
Was patiently waiting for the news to arrive on the blog. I love the smile on Wes' face and the respite however long for your faithful little family, may it be forever! Have said a million thankful little prayers today!
I'm just so happy for you guys! And thank you for reminding me to look for miracles in my own life, because you're right, the small ones are big!
Also, I love how you transform a cute Lucy story into a profound life lesson. Thanks for being one of my greatest examples of how to really LIVE (that goes for Wes too!).
Lori, a limited familiarity (mostly through Anne and this blog) with your life and circumstance allows me just a foggy little inkling of what your miracle might consist of, but I don't need to know details to know that God is in the details and to feel gratitude for the comfort of that reality. (Or to cry a few little tears at the tenderness of this post.)
You three deserve the choicest of miracles.
Derrick and I were both so happy to hear the news about Wes's dr. appointment. Our girls "bless Wes" every night and it is so neat to see all the wonderful blessings you are receiving... you guys definitely deserve them.
Oh, good. Oh, good.
I'm so happy for THIS miracle.
And the miracle you all have always been in my life. Thanks for the constant influence for good.
Love you all so much.
I can only assume what this mean for you and Wes, and I am SO happy for you. I get chocked up reading this.
The miracles that God gives us are the most beautiful parts of this life. Blessing abound! Your little family deserves this... your faith is such an example to me! You bring happiness and hope into the lives of those who know you. It's strange, but I have been thinking about you and your family lately and this just makes me smile all the way inside :)

What can I say that hasn't been said already? This post was angelic and if you don't know how much I love you guys or how much you have influenced my life or how much we constantly keep you in our prayers...so happy for you!
Well, as I read the comments here I am lost as to what to say...everything has been said. I truly agree with Heather and Amy. Thanks for letting us into your lives and for the example that you set to all of us. Everyday I strive to be a little more like the Trumans.
Also, this blog is exactly what I needed to read at the moment. I had been feeling a little "empty" as of late and couldn't figure it out...now I know. Thanks
I have to add our excitement for the great news! We were all so thankful Monday to hear about Wes. Our FHE lesson was on the blessings of fasting, prayer and priesthood power (cute story in the Friend about it). We had a great discussion about the blessings that Wes has received. We are so happy for you and we love you.
Oh yea! This post made me smile. We are so happy for you. And I'm with Heather... I loved how you turned a cute story into something we all needed to be reminded of.
Reading this left tears in my eyes too. I am so happy to hear the good news. I love reading your blog. It inspires me and strengthens my testimony as you share yours. Thank you!

I love this. I love that Lucy coined "miracle-round" --and how timely of her! And I loved the moment we shared today.
I loved that moment too - thanks, Anne!!
Lori, I was needing a spiritual boost and I got it as I read your post. I can't think of anyone who deserves these "miracles" more than your little family. We were all so relieved as well. I love the "miracle round"....how tender and cute is that!!! As with everyone else our prayers are always with you all.
