Father's Day

So glad that my daughter has a DAD.

To dance with... to watch ducks with...
to depend on.
Glad she has a dad who treats her like a queen. Lucy, at some point of every day:
"Dad, you're a horse (Dad dutifully swings daughter to his back).
I'm a queen ("Queen" plunks pretend crown on her head).
Mom, you're a dog (Mom plods faithfully beside the pair)."

Glad she has a dad to help her climb high (even when said dad's body is screaming with soreness from an intense game of dodge ball).

Glad she has a dad who loves her.

Glad I have that kind of dad.

Glad we all do.

The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.
"Nothing is going to startle us more when we pass through the veil to the other side than to realize how well we know our Father and how familiar his face is to us." President Benson, BYU Devotional Address, December 10, 1974
This afternoon Lucy heard Wes's voice outside the living room window. Excited, she cried, "I heard my dadda!" After a pause to listen, "I heard him again!! But we don't see him. Just like Heavenly Father!"
That's right, Lucy. Just like Heavenly Father.

Yeah for dads!!! and Wes makes such a great dad to Lucy. Loved the post and it is true that dads do so much for their children even though they might not enjoy ever minute of it.

The influence of a Good Father humbles me to the core.

I second the--Thanks for lifting, for loving, for caring, and for the strength to carry on that we receive from those who honor the priesthood, and those who serve others so tirelessly.

Wes, I loved the story that you posted on your family's blog about 'junior'. It was a perfect reminder for me today. Thanks!

The primary kids sang a song yesterday in church about fathers, ward fathers, and Heavenly Father. I love having so many father figures!

How amazing! She correlated her real dad to Heavenly Father. It is amazing to me all of the things that are young ones can understand. It makes me realize that He really did save his most valiant and strong for last. Intimidating to raise, but such a blessing and source of joy in our home.
