Our UT Vacation

We're saving up vacation days in order to ensure a happy maternity leave sometime in our distant September future.

There are thus no exotic excursions penciled onto our current summer calendar. But sometimes methinks that un-exotic is the most fun, anyway. And F U N is what we had a few weekends ago when we vacationed at my parents vacant house (they were vacationing in Ohio) from Friday night to Monday morning. An hour away from home can feel much farther when no one knows where you are!

And who ever complains about living in Utah?! Who, I ask?!

Have they taken their toddler to the (free) I Am a Child of God exhibit at the Museum of Church History and Art?

Have they eaten a concrete from Nielsen's Frozen Custard?

Have they taken long walks on the Bountiful benches or spent a Sunday afternoon in the shadow of this building?'Cause we have! And we had a wonderfully inexpensive, conveniently local, utterly memorable time!

Look at your cute new haircut! Is it new, or am I just unobservant? Thanks for all the fun posts. It's fun to hear what's going on.

Cute cute hair... and i love your little mini vacation! One of these days I'll have to make it back to Utah and check out that I am a child of God exhibit. It looks fabulous.

I remember one of the few times I went to Bountiful during freshman year, I went to Nielson's and ate concrete...it was some of the BEST ice cream I have ever had (the second best being BYU creamery.)

That "I'm a Child of God" exhibit looks so fun! We will definitely go there when we are SLC next time.

This sounds like MY kind of vacation, even if I keep thinking I am going to take a hugely expensive one. Thanks for the inspiration!

I always love reading about the adventures people have in their own backyards. So glad you're having fun!
