Weekend Favorites

The way Wes's hair dries after an evening at the swimming pool.
The way Lucy matter-o-factly says, "And I didn't drain!" after an evening of no head-dunks at the swimming pool. (If head-dunks do happen to occur, the comment is "I just drained a little, but then I came back up." Or, "I just drowned a tiny bit, but then I didn't anymore.")
The way Lucy's body feels after an evening at the swimming pool: sun-soaked and smooth skinned.
The way homemade food tastes (thanks for the elk, Uncle Terry!).
The way Lucy smiles when she hears her grandma's voice on the telephone.
The way six hours of Saturday morning conference check-outs can melt into a forgotten memory after a family trip to Target and a shared pint of free Archer's Farm ice cream.
The way Lucy loves the carpeted theatre steps at the Provo Library.
The way Dr. Suess books sound when read on the theatre steps at the Provo Library.
The way Lucy sounds when she recites our family scripture of the month (1 Ne. 3:7)
The way Wes says things like "Oh. Bobby-pins are remarkably handy. I always used to keep one on my shoe," when I'm in need of resourceful assistance with a Primary project.
The way Wes studies even though he's not in school.
The way our newly purchased moses basket for baby peaks out of our newly organized bedroom closet.
The way baby makes me giggle when he rolls and rumbles around in my middle.
The way watermelon tastes on a summer evening, in a quiet kitchen, at a cleared off table, next to your best friend and eternal companion.

My favorite thing is that you enjoy and appreciate life so much and when you share that we all do too! Thanks!
