Summer Celebrations: Parks and Picnics

Nice and cool 'round these parts last week.
Perfect for picnic making and park playing! Besides typical playground fun at our favorite parks...
...we played around with picnic foods. Lucy had fun making and eating a slew of outdoor favorites: boiled eggs, peanut butter pinwheels, jicama shapes, fruit kabobs, Amy's chewy granola bars (except: if one burns Amy's chewy granola bars, one will observe that they become crunchy, crumbly granola bars, and one might opt to serve them in a snack bag and christen them "crunchy crumbly granola bites." As opposed to chewy granola bars. But one and one's family might thoroughly enjoy them nonetheless.)

...we decorated brown paper picnic bags...designed our very own paper playground (including swings, stairs, a tunnel, a steering wheel, a giant block, a balance beam, a hang-and-glide, a megaphone, and a tunnel, all topped off with a red roof. Oh, and don't forget the wood chips)......we committed not to be Litterbugs (Anyone remember this out of print classic? I've searched and searched for a copy less than $40 and was THRILLED to find one a few weeks ago for $4!)......and we cozied up in the evenings next to a pile of other park/picnic picture books.*
It was all delightful. From the fresh watermelon to the rousing choruses of Zipadee Do Da on top of the playground equipment. (Oh. And the paper cups to gnaw on.)
Good times!

I am soooo happy you found Litterbugs come in all sizes!!!!!

I am so happy "Our Creator" created such wondrous creations as you. (We had a sad week. We lost one robin, one quail, and one chick)... This telestial 'food chain' is the pits me thinks.

Nothing beats a little baby in a huge swing!

It's waaaaaay to hot here for parks now... unless you go at 6 am or 8pm. Haha.
