12 Days of Christmas Catch-Up: "Where the Love Light Gleams..."

Home.

It wasn't so much of a "come...unpack...stay....relax,"  kind of holiday.  There was so much coming and going.  But there were moments of calm - moments of home.

Grandma told my children the story of Little Cinnamon Bear.  (The one I asked to hear again and again as a girl.  The one Lucy has loved for years now.  The one I started to tell Spencer a the beginning of the month and was interrupted by his sudden demand, "I wonna cin-mon roll."  =)

Lucy gave Spencer the gift she had saved for, picked out, and purchased for him all on her own.

And Mom made everything special, as usual.

Of course there was fun with all our siblings.  Christmas Eve at Brenda's, Christmas Day at Brent's,

And the next week was wonderful with Wes's family all in town.

Before family pictures I was trying to prep Lucy by saying, "Let's practice our surprised face...let's practice our silly face...let's practice our happy, smiling for the camera face...etc.  After we finished family pictures, she said to me, "Now let's practice our tired face."  =)

We may have ended the holidays tired - but it was the best kind of tired there is.  The kind that comes from wonderful, fulfilling family time.

Lucy is hilarious! That's a pretty good tired face. And I love the present Lucy got for Spencer. What is it, some kind of fish?
