Spring Break

We spent a few days of spring break at my sister's beautiful riverside home in Idaho.  It was pretty much heaven for my kids.

We drove one evening to see a section of the Oregon trail.

Lucy and Spencer set right off down the faint path and were sad when we called them back to the car before they'd "made it to the end."  =)

All such fun.  But lizards were, perhaps, the highlight of the trip.  I loved watching Lucy and Spencer scrambling over rocks in their determined pursuit.  It reminded me of so many summers in Lake Powell.  And of the time Wes and I went camping in Goblin Valley as newlyweds.  I remember that I earned a few awesome-wife points with him the morning I showed him how to catch a lizard by it's tail =).  And now Lucy has mastered the skill.

She brought two home with us and they lasted a few more days than I thought they would.  We had a nice funeral and burial for the first,

and Lucy let the second go in our backyard to save him from a similar fate.  =)  Although for a few minutes he seemed as reluctant to part as she was...

Smile.  So grateful for such good memories with these people I love so much!!

What a beautiful place! It looks like heaven to me too! Glad you had such a wonderful time. I remember that picture of you face to face with the lizard from your newlywed camp out. Love you all!

Lu....Do you know you are always with us? Funny how that works with family and friends. We are never really apart. Love seems to grow and even finds it's way to over-flowing in the eyes and filling the void in the heart.
