For Lucy

Yesterday we escaped a massive snake invasion together.

When we made it inside you said, "Snakes are gone! We're safe."

Today we played with friends.

Today in a moment of frustration I said harsh words and carried you with rough, impatient movements.

You forgave me.

Today we sat in a courtyard with a fountain. For two hours.

You almost fell asleep.

But not quite.Tonight we both cried when you went unwillingly to the neighbor's house so mom and dad could go to the temple.

We both recovered.

Tonight we both go to bed too late and too tired.

WHAT WILL WE DO TOMORROW????

Oh this sounds like a day from my life (the "moment of frustration" part sometimes too often). I loved it... especially the massive snake invasion!

You have the best posts out there. I love it. I must agree wtih jeanine, that your day sounds a bit like mine, especially the rough movements and harsh words. I am reading a book right now....you have just inspired a post for me so you will have to check it out to see what I was going to say.

I just have to say, what a hard, wonderful thing motherhood is. Someday I hope to be able to empathize and laugh with you all about it.

I love love love how you love love love your precious little girl. You make me want to be like that for Garrett. (Not that I wouldn't be naturally, but you take it to an awesome level!)

Having a frustrating day myself and missing my sis. You are the best and I love you with all my heart. Hope you're having a good one today. I'm having a moment and trying to give myself an attitude adjustment...

sure wish I'd read this before I waited in the customer service line at wal mart :) Wish we could spend all our days with you! Escaping snakes is no fun by yourself.

Man, we totally missed out on the play date! (I decided you had to go by a name that started with a 'B', so Viana missed out, and Brooke's just a bit too young) But those hats are awesome!

Jeanine and Heather - so glad to here I'm not alone in my moments of frustration.

Heath - I can't wait till we're sharing motherhood stories too!

Wes - can't tell you how much I love to see your name on here. Surprising how much I love it.

Lindsay - I feel the same way when I read your posts about Garrett. Amazing the love that motherhood brings with it, huh?!

Mom - mmm, a lesson indeed. Good one :)

Julie, Julie - I love and miss you too! Mom said you are all being healthy. I'm missing out on the fun. Will you guys be in town for conference?

Amy - ooo, cust. service line? I'd don't know if an imagination could help that at all! Miss you after our fun weekend!

CJ - I should have called to get you in on the baby-sitting action! The more the merrier! But maybe now that you and Eric are the champions of the world you won't want to hang out with us anymore... :)

I love your cute idea of writing to Lucy for your post! My favorite is the picture of Lucy peeking around the corner. Scott and I often marvel at your excellent photography and always say to ourselves, "when do they take all of these pictures?" because neither of us think of you as an alpha-camera family, but man, you catch every beautiful moment! Keep it up, we love it!

I will be in town for conference. I don't think Terry will. I am coming tomorrow for Whit's surgery on Tuesday. Staying a week...maybe 2. Hope to see you then.

Addie keeps saying "I've really got to meet her"... and your pics of Disneyland do confirm the fact...It is the happiest place on earth!

Days like your Thursday are something you won't forget because you've captured it so well. What a blessing it is that you share it with us!
I'm with Grandma Deanna, won't it be nice when the light grows brighter and brighter until that perfect day.

How sweet! She is going to love reading stuff like this someday, you know. And also, I know I always tell you this, but you are a FABULOUS photographer. Seriously. You really have an eye. I thought the shot of her little wet handprints down the row was absolutely brilliant. Honestly. You're good, my friend.
