Can't Help It

Reality comes more forcefully with a funeral.
Tears come more readily.
Wes and I wept throughout today's service.
A life of legacy. Miracles. Example. Family. Testimony. Consecration.

("Tell him to use his cane for walking!")

My Shepherd will supply my need;
Jehovah is his name;
In pastures fresh he makes me feed,
Beside the living stream.
He brings my wandering spirit back,
When I forsake his ways,
And leads me, for his mercy's sake,
In paths of truth and grace.

When I walk through the shades of death
Thy presence is my stay;
One word of thy supporting breath
Drives all my fears away.
Thy hand, in sight of all my foes,
Doth still my table spread;
My cup with blessings overflows,
Thine oil anoints my head.

The sure provisions of my God
Attend me all my days;
O may thy house be mine abode,
And all my work be praise!
There would I find a settled rest,
(While others go and come,)
No more a stranger, nor a guest;
But like a child at home.

A "man for all seasons."

God Be With You 'Til We Meet Again.

I love it. I have to admit that he was quite a funny guy and never seemed to use that cane for the correct purpose! :) Go figure!

Our hearts broke with gratitude for our Prophet! The words of others were sweet but how we will miss his voice and the twinkle in his eye!

I loved the closing song - and the pictures that some stations on TV showed - bawled through the whole song, so beautiful! Now everytime I hear that song, I will remember Pres. Hinckley.

Just got home....I too weep in gratitude and reverance for this Man for all seasons and all people. One endearing memory was watching that dear Prophet start to exit our stake conference, then turn and walk back across the stage to shake your hand when you had spoken (a treasured memory)..... A Giant among men dressed in meekness, service, wisdom, and LOVE. I will keep trying to "do my best" as he admonished us in so many loving and happy ways. Mom
