Winter is the perfect time for preschool: lots of indoor fun!
How 'bout a Teddy Bear Picnic?

"Backward" Day!
It all helped January to breeze by!
February and the following months were fabulous, too!
Valentine's Day!
I don't think Lucy was supposed to address her valentines, just sign them. But she made each of her cards for someone specific, and she insisted on writing her her friends' names on them.
We stapled on a piece of hard candy (also specifically selected) and she carried her treasures off to school...
...only to return with many more. I hope I always remember how fun it was to watch Lu pull valentines out from her backpack one at a time, concentrate hard to make out each friend's "signature," and then smile with delight when recognition finally dawned. How fun is Valentine's Day??!?
March was magical too.
St. Patrick's Day
Lucy greeted us after school with a lucky green coin and a green apple sucker (which she kindly allowed her brother to temporarily examine). And at lunchtime there was a lot to report to Dad.
Western Day was wonderful!
And in April, an Egg Hunt, of course!
By spring, Lucy and her friends were good enough pals that there were always little faces at our car window after school - always little voices hollering "Goodbye! Goodbye!" as we pulled away from the curb.
(One day I watched from the driver seat as a little boy friend deliberately exited a game of Red Light, Green Light on the grass because he noticed that Lucy was gone. "Where's Lucy?" he asked around for a minute. Then, upon discovering her buckled up in the back seat of our car, he walked casually up to the window, smiled a debonair little smile and said, "Goodbye, Lucy Truman." An innocent childish interaction, to be sure - but I wasn't sure whether I'd ever send her to school again. I mean, he was a cute boy. =)
Spring break came and went and when it was finally time to head back to school, the mornings were warm enough for pre-preschool play outside.
DIVINE.
(I shouldn't post these pictures of Lucy's tricycle and Spencer's little "pusher"...
we all cry whenever we look at them!)
But I suppose now we won't have to worry about sending Lu to school in dirty knee socks.
Good times, but enough for today! A few final preschool posts to come! (Hopefully before Kindergarten starts! I'm getting antsy about that, by the way - Kindergarten. Haven't heard a word about anything. Need to call and inquire. Do we have a teacher? Do we have a time? Maybe we'll be homeschooling after all!)

Oh such fun!
And Kindergarten is an anxious thing for me as well. William has ALL DAY Kindergarten! I will miss him... and so will his brothers!
Way to highlight all of the memorable days of preschool=) She is so darling. I'm worried if she were my daughter, I'd just stare at her all day long. Could you custom design a more beautiful little girl?
I LOVE this post. I feel like I know Lucy and Spencer!! You seriously are a great blogger Lori...you and Jeanine inspired me to be more committed to blogging (so one day I will hopefully have a family journal/album to print). Enjoy your summer!
What a fun pre-school year Lucy Truman. I think there will be as many friends stopping whatever they are doing to tell you goodbye as there were your momma!
As for Kindergarten, it is scariest with the first. After that you know YOU can survive, the little ones survive just fine.
Love you all! And love cowgirl Lucy!
What a lot of fun activities! I love Lucy dressed up as a cowgirl.
We haven't heard anything about kindergarten yet either.....Thank you for sending me the link to the preschool, it looks like SO much fun.
