Goodbye

Most of our group left Sunday evening.

After which Ryan put in beach time with the remaining children...

...and then endured my tears throughout our late Sunday night conversation.  Thanks, Ry.  There were tears the next morning, too.  Lucy and I tried to run them dry on the beach.

But couldn't.  It's hard to part ways with people and places (and memories) you love.  Lucy's tears lingered for the first few hours of our drive home.  There was some distraction.  We read Stuart Little and listened to Roald Dahl on CD.  But inevitabely, I would turn and see those quiet tears trickling down.

 Some feelings run deep.

Your children are so great! I don't know why I always tear up when I read your blog. It's sad but it always reminds me of how precious and beautiful life is. Thanks so much for writing it!

Oh Lori... this is deep. My heart goes out to you and Lucy! Can't believe what a beautiful young woman she's becoming - both inside and out. Hoping to see you for turkey day in a month's time!
